WORKSHOPS
808 Workshops is a branch of 808 Studios, which hosts bi-weekly workshops and seminars instructed by local artists. Artists of all medians lead the workshops and will teach you an aspect of their craft. There is no previous skills required to participate in a workshop.
808 Workshops was created with the goal of strengthening the local art scene and fostering a sense of community.

PAY$WHAT$YOU$CAN
808 Workshops is a pay-what-you-can structure at the door. Money goes directly towards the materials for the workshop, profits will go towards the teaching artist.
It is a recommended $10 donation.
WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
6:30 PM
Workshop doors open at 6:30 with food and drinks for the participants.
7:00 PM
At 7:00 the workshop will begin. It will start off with an introduction of the instructing artist, followed by the artist's presentation.
Each artist formats their workshop differently. They all range from 1 hour - 2 hours. All of the required materials will be provided for you.
9:00 PM
By this time the night is wrapped up. Anyone still lingering can socialize, play pool or whatever until the doors close, which is never certain.

We created 808 Workshops as a dynamic and creative extension of 808 Studios, driven by our passion for education, artistic expression, and fostering a sense of community. Our mission is to provide a welcoming and inspiring space where individuals can come together to learn, create, and connect. Halifax is home to an incredible abundance of creative talent and resources, yet the city lacks dedicated outlets or spaces for artists and aspiring creatives to collaborate, share ideas, and grow their skills in a supportive environment.
808 Workshops aims to fill that gap by offering a platform that encourages artistic exploration and collaboration. These workshops are designed to be casual, enjoyable, and highly engaging, catering to individuals of all backgrounds and interests. Whether you're a complete beginner with no prior experience or someone looking to refine your craft, our workshops provide a safe and inclusive space to dive into the arts. No matter the medium, our goal is to spark creativity, build confidence, and create meaningful connections within Halifax's vibrant creative community.
